President’s Letter June 2021

Greeting Sisters and Brothers,

The next regular meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday, June 15^th, 2021 at 5:30 PM at the Blue Bay Diner.  Our Club Coordinator, Former Assistant Business Manager, Elliot Hecht will provide details of new developments within the industry. Questions will be welcomed.

I am so happy to say that the Electrical Welfare Club will be holding our General Membership Meeting in-person once again. I look forward to seeing our members and sharing a meal together.  For those of you that do not meet the requirements, live to far to join us or cannot be with us next Tuesday, I want you to know how thankful we are to have you part of the Club and we will find a way to continue to use Zoom for us to keep in touch.

Getting back to normal is what is gradually happening throughout our city, state, country and most importantly our Union, Local 3 and the JIB.  We collectively have weathered a horrible pandemic and as we continue to recover and get our vaccinations we start anew.  We again pause and remember all those we have lost, and we continue to care for all those still on the mend.  We begin this month with less restrictive in person meetings with some of our Sister Affiliated Clubs.  Local 3’s General Membership meeting on Thursday June 10^th will allow for increased attendance, proof of vaccinations is required. And what we all must do now is stay informed, stay connected and stay united and of course stay safe.  Let this be a call for increased involvement for all of us.  Let us all try to do a little more.  More meetings, more functions, more rallies and more when called upon. We all have busy lives and many things going on but please try to step out of your comfort zone and support Local Union No. 3.

The NYC Primary Election Day is Tuesday June 22nd.  Get out to vote!  Support Labor’s candidates.

It is so important to stay informed and get the right information from the right sources.

Please support our Club, make sure your Club dues and Cemetery dues (if you have them) are paid and up to date.
