Greeting Sisters and Brothers,
***There will be no Electrical Welfare Club Meeting in the month of March***
The next meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will take place April 21st, 2026 in the Balcony Lounge at 5:00pm. There is no regular meeting the month of March in lieu of our meeting we will be having our annual Passover Seder on March 24th.
I would like to thank last month’s guest speakers, Examining Board Member Sascha Swanson and Executive Board Member Patrick Moquin for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend our meeting and address our membership.
On March 2nd we celebrated the holiday of Purim. During Purim we commemorate the deliverance of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian Empire from destruction in the wake of a plot by the evil Hayman.
March 25, 2026 will commemorate the 115th anniversary of the Triangle Shirt Waist Factory fire. It was the deadliest industrial disaster in the history of N.Y.C. causing 146 garment workers to die from either the fire or smoke inhalation or jumping to their death. Most were Italian or Jewish immigrants age 14 to 23. This led to major improvements in the work place safety standards including the modern fire and sprinkler codes that are required in office buildings today.
Our annual Passover Seder will be held on March 24th at the Plainview Jewish Center. We hope to see everyone there. See flyer for more information.
