President’s Letter April 2013

Greeting Sisters and Brothers,

The next regular meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday, April 23^rd, 2013 in the Balcony Lounge of the JIB Auditorium at 5PM. Please note this important date change.   Food and beverages will be served. At this meeting one of our guest speakers will be former assemblyman, Barry Grodenchik.
Barry currently serves as Queens Borough President Helen Marshall’s Director of Community Boards. Until recently, Barry served as President Marshall’s Deputy Borough President before stepping down from that position to run for Borough President in this year’s upcoming election. Also joining us will be Nicholas Agho, a representative from Milwaukee Tools. He will be making a presentation on all the new and innovative tools that Milwaukee Tools is manufacturing and developing that are geared towards the electrical industry. Club Coordinator, Business Representative Elliot Hecht will provide details of new developments within the industry. Questions are always welcomed.

I’d like to thank all of the club members and their families that made the commitment to attend our 5^th Annual Passover Seder. There were approximately 120 people in attendance, all of whom helped to make a very memorable evening in our clubs history. I’d like to thank Vice President Steve Sadofsky, Seder Chairman Seth Goldman and the Seder
committee for the outstanding job they did transforming the JIB auditorium for our special meal. Also, special thanks to club member Hy Portnoy for leading our Seder.

Applications are still available to apply for the two college scholarships that will be awarded by the EWC.  The Louis Stein Memorial Scholarship is for a four year school while the Irving Reicher Memorial Scholarship is for those that plan to attend a two year school. You can contact Scholarship Chairman, Bro. Marc Deutscher if you need an application or see him at our upcoming meeting Tuesday, April 23^rd,
2013. The deadline to apply is May 21st, 2013
