President’s Letter November 2013

November 2013

Greeting Sisters and Brothers,

The next regular meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday November 19th, 2013 in the Balcony Lounge of the EIC Auditorium at 5 PM. Hot food and cold beverages will be served at that time. As is tradition in November, we will
have our Memorial Service led by Rabbi Gerald Solomon, this service will honor members of the EWC and their family that have passed away in the last year. We will also have as our guest speaker, Christopher Erikson Jr., newest member of the Executive Board of Local Union No. 3. Our club coordinator, Business Representative Elliot Hecht will provide details of all new developments within the industry. Questions will be welcomed.

I would like to thank last month’s guest speaker Judy Blades, Wellness Coordinator at the JIB Medical Department, for the terrific presentation that was given to our members at last month’s meeting. She really shed some light on eating healthier and making better choices when choosing beverages to drink.

The EWC held our 51st Annual Awards & Scholarship Breakfast on Sunday, October 27th, 2013. Thank you to our Breakfast Chairman, Vice President Steven Sadofsky and Co-Chair, Corresponding Secretary Marc Deutscher and their entire Breakfast Committee for a terrific job coordinating the event. Also “thank you” to the many members who attended our event and made it a great success.

Thank you to the EWC members that stepped up to the plate when called upon and helped out with election campaigning. Our club is only as strong as its membership!

The EWC Annual Hanukah Party is just around the corner, Sunday December 1st, 2013. We will speak about the party at our upcoming meeting. If you haven’t already done so, this will be your last opportunity to register your children or grandchildren 12 years old and under for a gift from the EWC at our party. We also need to know how many people are
attending, so fill out the enclosed coupon attached to the flyer and return it to Bro. Marc Deutscher at the meeting if not sooner.

On a similar note, the Affiliated Clubs of Local 3 will be hosting a Rocking New Year’s Party similar to that of 2 years ago. If you are looking for something fun and exciting to do to ring in 2014, look no further. This party will take place Tuesday, December 31st, 2013 at the Electric Industry Auditorium, more details to follow at the upcoming meeting.

I hope to see you all at our next meeting, if not have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Stay active; support our club and its great parent organization Local Union No. 3 IBEW.

Fraternally yours,

Eric A. Farbman
President, Electrical Welfare Club
