President’s Message April 2024

April 2024

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

There is NO Regular General Membership Meeting next Tuesday, April 16th, 2024.

Instead, we will be having our Pre-Passover Seder at the Plainview Jewish Center at 6 PM. See the attached flyer for more information.

The next regular General Membership Meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, in the Balcony Lounge at 5 PM. Food and beverages will be served at that time. The meeting will begin at 5:45 PM

On Sunday, April 14th, there will be a Street naming in Electchester, this honor will be for a dear friend and long-time resident of Electchester, the late Assemblywoman Nettie Mayersohn. The ceremony will take place on 161st Street and Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Ave. near the Q64 Bus Stop. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11 AM. Please join us and show your support and appreciation of Nettie and her dedication to our community and her support for our Union and Club for many, many years.

Our Club Weekend out at the Long Island Education Center (Santorini) will be Friday September 13 – Sunday September 15. Our Club has only 19 rooms so please let us know ASAP if you are interested in joining us.

Club Dues for 2024 are Due. The Annual Dues are $40 and can be paid by check, money order or cash and can be paid in person at our meeting on Tuesday, May 21st\ or they can be mailed to our Financial Secretary Eric A. Farbman directly.  See our Newsletter for his address.  It is so very important that everyone continues to support our Club with the payment of your annual Club Dues.

The 2024 Joseph Jacobson Memorial Scholarship Applications are due by the May 21st meeting.

Over 185 days since the horrific attack on the people of Israel and those visiting at a music festival and over 120 hostages still being held by terrorists.  Let us continue to pray for their release and for the people of Israel and for peace in the region.

I look forward to seeing you at our Pre-Passover Seder at the Plainview Jewish on Tuesday, April 16th.

Stay active; support our Club and its great parent organization Local Union No.3 IBEW

Fraternally yours,

Marc Deutscher
