President’s Message January 2024

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

The next regular General Membership Meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday, January 16^th, 2024, in the Balcony Lounge at 5 PM. Food and beverages will be served at that time. The meeting will begin at 5:45 PM

You must enter through the main entrance of the Electric Industry Center at 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Ave. 

Our guest speaker will be Business Representative Stella Fafalios so please try to join us.  Our Club Coordinator, Local Union No. 3 IBEW Executive Board Member, David Hochman will provide details of new developments within the industry. Questions will be welcomed.

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a great New Year’s Eve.

I want to thank everyone who attended our Hanukkah Party, especially all who volunteered to help make our party a success and a lot of fun for our families.

Last year was a very special year for our Club, we had great events, celebrated in style and showed the leadership and membership of Local 3 that the Electrical Welfare Club and our members were and still are a very important part of the electrical industry and I look forward to continuing that into this new year with our upcoming events starting with our Pre-Passover Seder on Tuesday, April 16^th.

Our Club Dues for 2024 are Due. The Annual Dues are $40 and can be paid by check, money order or cash and can be paid in person at our meeting on Tuesday, January 16^th or they can be mailed to our Treasurer Paul Portnoy directly.  See our Newsletter for his address.  It is so very important that everyone continues to support our Club with the payment of your annual Club Dues.

Over the next 5 weeks, members of the Electrical Welfare Club will be asked to volunteer our time to help with the Tom Suozzi for Congress campaign for the Special Election which will be held on Tuesday February 13^th, 2024. Tom is the grandson of a former Local 3 member. He is a strong supporter of Local 3 and organized labor as well as all working men and women.   

I look forward to seeing everyone at our meeting, Tuesday, January 16^th.
