The next regular General Membership Meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday, February 20th, 2024, in the NORTH ROOM at 5 PM. Food and beverages will be served at that time. The meeting will begin at 5:45 PM
You must enter the main entrance of the Electric Industry Center at 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Ave.
Our guest speaker will be Annette River, Director of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Referral Guidance so please try to join us. Our Club Coordinator, Local Union No. 3 IBEW Executive Board Member, David Hochman, will provide details of new developments within the industry. Questions will be welcomed.
I want to thank everyone who volunteered so far and will be volunteering for the Tom Suozzi Campaign for Congress. Early voting started on Saturday February 3rd and ended on Sunday February 10th and Election Day is Today, February 13th. This is only in the NY 3rd Congressional District which is in Queens County and Nassau County.
This election is very important. We need the right people to represent us in Congress who will fight for us and protect our way of life, Union Jobs, Workers Rights, Workers Protections, Job Site Safety, Green Energy, New Technology, New Infrastructure Projects, and more. We have that in Tom Suozzi.
It has been over 125 days since the horrific attack in Israel on October 7th, the death toll continues to rise and many of the hostages remain held by the terrorists. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced throughout the war zone and so many people live their lives in total fear every day. Hate towards Israel, and Jews continue to grow more and more as the war continues. It causes a lot of pain and suffering for so many in Israel, in Gaza, in New York, and all over the world. It was just International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27th and for the first time in my life I am honestly very worried for Israel and for Jewish people all over the world. We must stand together, and we must spread the words of peace and love and acceptance louder and louder and louder and we must as the Jewish Club of our Union remain forever vigilant.
Our Pre-Passover Seder will be held on Tuesday, April 16th at the Plainview Jewish Center, 95 Floral Drive W. @ 6 PM. Please see our Flyer for more information.
Club Dues for 2024 are Due. The Annual Dues are $40 and can be paid by check, money order or cash and can be paid in person at our meeting on Tuesday, February 20th or they can be mailed to our Treasurer Paul Portnoy directly. See our Newsletter for his address. It is so very important that everyone continues to support our Club with the payment of your annual Club Dues.
