President’s Message September 2024

Greeting Sisters and Brothers,                                                                                          September 2024

The next regular General Membership Meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024, in the Balcony Lounge at 5 PM. Food and beverages will be served at that time. The meeting will begin at 5:45 PM.  You must enter through the main entrance of the Electric Industry Center at 158-11 Harry Van Arsdale Jr. Ave. 

I hope everyone had a wonderful, memorable, and restful summer and we can all now get back to

the business of our Club which is to be a place for ALL Jewish members of our Union to come

together to support one another and show our strength within the industry. For that to happen, we

need you to show up and be involved. The next two months are critical, and we need your help,

and our Union needs your help. Now is the time. I am asking everyone to step up and do your part.

Please find some time to volunteer when asked.

I want to thank everyone that attended our Annual Fishing Trip on August 4th.  It was a great day on the water with some ‘keepers’.  I want to thank Bro. Eric Farbman for all his help with that event.  It was also great to see many of you at the Labor Day Parade and thanks to those that helped there as well. I want to also thank everyone who is joining us this weekend at the Long Island Education Center (Santorini).

September 11th was the 23rd Anniversary of the horrific events of 9-11-2001, may we will always remember our 17 Brothers from Local Union No. 3 IBEW as well as our 4 Brothers from Local 1212 IBEW that were murdered that day as well as the nearly 3,000 other people who went to work that day expecting to go home to their families and friends that never did. May we also remember those members of Local Union No. 3 IBEW who passed away since that horrible day due to related illnesses and all that are still suffering. The days and years may pass on the calendars, but the pain does not get any easier. Please keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers as well.

Over 11 months since the horrific attack on the people of Israel and those attending a music festival and over 100 hostages still being held by terrorists.  Let us continue to pray for their release and for the people of Israel and for peace in the region.

Our 2024 Club Raffle Tickets are now available to purchase and to sell. This is our Club’s only Fundraiser. It is so important that we sell as many Raffle tickets as we can.  With your help, the money raised goes right back into all the Club’s events such as the Pre-Passover Seder, Fishing Trip, Hanukkah Party, our monthly meetings, and our Scholarship. Please purchase some tickets and please sell our Raffle tickets to your friends, relatives, neighbors, or anyone who is willing to support us. For just $10, you can win $100 up to 30 different times.

Union Dues are due by September 30, 2024. ‘A’ Construction Dues are $307.

Club Dues for 2024 are Due. The Annual Dues are $40 and can be paid by Check, Money Order or Cash and can be paid in person at our meeting on Tuesday, September 17th or they can be mailed to our Financial Secretary Eric A. Farbman directly.  See our Newsletter for his address.
