President’s Letter December 2014

December 2014

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

The next regular meeting of the Electrical Welfare Club will be held on Tuesday December 16th, 2014 in the Balcony Lounge of the JIB Auditorium at 5 PM.  Food and beverages will be served at that time. At this meeting we will hold our club elections for all elected positions. Please attend this meeting and vote for members to fill the very important positions that will help steer our club in the proper direction for the future. Our club coordinator Business Representative Elliot Hecht will provide details of new developments within the industry. Questions will be welcomed.

I would like to thank Rabbi Gerald Solomon for presiding over our Annual Memorial Service at our last meeting as well as thank all of our Local 3 friends that were in attendance.

On December 2, 2014 I had the opportunity along with other members of the EWC to attend the Israel Bonds Electrical Division Annual Cocktail Reception in NYC. There were four people honored that evening Philip Altheim, John Broxmeyer, Mark Chanzis- JIB Director of Administration and our very own Martin Reicher. Congratulations to all the recipients especially our friend Marty.

Save the date: Please come and join us as our newly elected Officers and Board of Directors of the Electrical Welfare Club are installed at our club’s customary Installation of Officers & Dinner Dance to be held January 24st, 2015 at North Shore Synagogue in Syosset. Tickets are $50 per person. Make your reservation with ticket chairman Paul Portnoy at our upcoming meeting (See enclosed flier)

The Electchester Street Fair Committee is hosting their Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony, which will be taking place Monday December 15th, 2014 at 7 PM. We hope you will join us in the First Housing courtyard for the lighting of Electchester’s Holiday Lights.

I look forward to seeing all of our members and their families at our Annual Hanukkah party Sunday December 21st 2014. We can use all available hands to help wrapping gifts and decorating starting at 8:00 am the morning of the party in the J.I.B. auditorium. Please remember many hands make for lighter lifting.
